Megadeth – Dystopia
I’m the thrash guy here at Loud & Heavy, I’m the guy that’s supposed to tell you if I love or hate a record. Well if somebody were to have told me a year ago that the new Megadeth album would make me believe that Dave Mustaine has returned to form and remind us why […]
Clutch – Psychic Warfare
It’s been almost twenty years since I discovered what was then considered stoner rock band CLUTCH. I, of course like most people went through my phases of rock and metal to get where I am now at a fresh, young thirty-three years old, coming to the realization that I purely just love music that moves […]

Trust My Heart (Never Hope To Die) Psychotic Romantic Deathless Arise Turn Back The Time Empty Promises The Artificial Born From Nothing Being a fan of early 2000’s Metalcore, and some newer Deathcore, I was drawn to Miss May I’s early sound because it was aggressive while also drawing you in […]
August Burns Red
Insomnium
John Kevill of Warbringer
You recently had two members of the band quit, one being a founding member John Laux, do you have any idea what brought it on? Yes, a variety of things but I would say the main one is the difficulty of making a remotely stable living playing music at anything other than the uppermost levels. […]

Shadows Fall
Shadows Fall – Fire From The Sky
Time and time again, Shadows Fall never cease to amaze me, from beginning to end this album eerily reminds me of the early days of the band. This album is incredibly driving and forceful musically and lyrically, and once again Shadows Fall has done it. This is the type of album that deserves to be called metal album of the year hands down. They truly are flying the flag of American Heavy Metal, well I say fly it high guys!
Black Breath – Sentenced to Life
Black Breath’s newest album ‘Sentenced to Life’ is distinctly not distinct. It is its own brand of brilliant thrash metal with a heavy attitude that is that of traditional hardcore. A metal album that is reminiscent of the Bay Area, circa 1987.
Christian Mistress – Possession
This album will thoroughly surprise you. With the onslaught of these types of bands hitting the airwaves now, Christian Mistress takes a different approach, mixing bluesy Sabbathesque riffs with deep, dark, mesmerizing vocals, and just the right amount of sludge/doom metal intertwined.
