ORBIT CULTURE – ROSEVILLE, CA – 02/18/2026

Orbit Culture came to Sacramento on one of the final cool nights in the area with amazing support from ‘ATLAS’ and ‘OV SULFUR’ who lit the sold out crowd up from the beginning and also offered up something different to every single fan in the building whether you were there for the melodic or for the chaos. Orbit Culture, hailing from Sweden, has been around for almost a decade and pulls zero punches in their live set, while also not shying away from their obvious influences.
Their set consisted of a healthy dose of “Death Above Life”, unsurprisingly considering that’s the album that skyrocketed them, but also did a nice job of sprinkling in tracks off of ’Nina’ and ‘Descent’, but among them standing out for me were “Saw” off of their Redfog EP and “The Shadowing” off of Nija. This was the first show on the tour, but definitely didn’t feel like there was any warm-up needed as they ripped through their entire set without stopping for much longer than to get a drink of water.
I wouldn’t go as far to say that Orbit Culture is the future of Swedish metal, but I will say that they may be the catalyst that brings new fans of the genre into bands like In Flames, Dark Tranquility, The Haunted and many more, or at least that’s my hope.

I'm a screenwriter, journalist, independent filmmaker and photographer when time permits. I cut my teeth in Journalism with Klusterfuct Magazine, Fringe Magazine and finally Your Music Magazine interview bands such as Rob Zombie, Korn, Unearth, Shadows Fall, Rise Against, All That Remains and many more. Fed up with the politics involved in working for someone else I ventured out on my own journey and started creating short films in hopes to one day create feature films, but alas I missed writing about bands that mean so much to me, so here I am...fighting the good fight, fighting the metal fight!
